A3 Whakaahua - Hineraumati Hau Ora
Hineraumati Hau Ora is a limited series of prints depicting my interpretation for Hineraumati, the maiden and personification of Summer in some pūrākau Māori. Her growing presence indicates Tamanuiterā shifting from the north east to the south eastern skies during the summer period.
Although this season during times of old was seen as a period where food supplies were scarce and warfare was present, I wanted to create a piece that highlighted the beauty and elegance that can be found during the season of raumati.
